Cecilia Treviño

Cecilia Treviño is a bilingual reporter for NBC 7 San Diego and Telemundo 20, delivering stories that inform and connect with diverse communities.

Born and raised in Monterrey, México, Cecilia earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in film production from Tec de Monterrey. She began her career at the 130-year-old Laredo Morning Times, covering the Texas-Mexico border and local community issues.

Cecilia then reported as a Weekend Anchor and Bilingual Reporter for KGNS, specializing in immigration coverage, including Border Patrol operations and reporting on the end of Title 42 along the South Texas border. She later joined KGET in Bakersfield as a bilingual reporter and fill-in anchor, where her investigative reporting exposed a Romanian crime ring stealing EBT benefits across California. Her investigation led to Congressman Vince Fong introducing the SKIM Act.

Cecilia is committed to telling stories that make a tangible difference, connecting communities, and giving voice to those who are often unheard.
